ETHICAL FOIE GRAS

In November 2021 our Head of Brand and Innovation Leigh Myers and Senior Buyer Miguel Perez had the pleasure of visiting Eduardo Sousa on his farm, based in the rolling green hills of Extremadura in Spain.

Eduardo’s family has been offering their customers Foie Natural Gras since 1812, bred in absolute freedom, without force feeding, in a natural, ethical and sustainable way.

The wild geese touch down in Spain once a year to graze on the luscious grasses, figs, acorns, Organic corn and wild lupin seeds which helps develop the superbly delicate flavour of the meat.

Roaming across the 150 hectares of farmland, the geese naturally fatten themselves up in just a few weeks before flying south for the winter. The Foie Natural Gras is smooth and rich with flavours hinting to the wild herbs, olives and fruits the geese have eaten.
